- Gary Rapaport
- My name is Gary Rapaport, and I live in Brentwood, CA with my wife and 3 small dogs. Since 1975, I have been involved in hospital administration in California. Through the years, I have worked for several different hospitals in Northern and Central California. My experiences have prepared me for the difficulties of managing a not-for-profit hospital in a rapidly growing and diverse community like East Contra Costa County. Our community is made-up of people from a multitude of races and ethnicities, speaking several different languages, and practicing many different faiths. Some have health insurance, many do not, but all benefit from the presence of Sutter Delta Medical Center, which provides emergency services, a women’s health center with family-centered obstetrics, a cancer center, an urgent care clinic designed to aid the uninsured, and so much more. As CEO, it is my privilege to work with a dedicated leadership team, physicians, nurses, and staff members as well as community leaders and county officials to ensure the citizens of East Contra Costa County are provided with excellent, affordable healthcare in a safe, comforting, and welcoming environment.

what specialties are coming to SDMC?
We are pleased to welcome Board Certified General Surgeon , Dr. Ditmars who will be starting practice with East Bay Surgical Associates in February.
Dr. Darmawan, Pediatrician joined Dr. Garcia's practice in Brentwood last month (December 2007).
Dr. May Tao, Radiation Oncologist began her practice with East Bay Oncology in January and hopes to be providing Radiation Therapy in their new Cancer Center in March.
We hope to welcome later in 2008, a new Internist to Brentwood, a new Family Practitioner to Antioch, a new Thoracic and Vascular Surgeon, and new Pain Management Specialists.
